EQUILLORE - MEDIA RELEASE - 7 March 2008
Equillore and FutureLAW join forces
Equillore and FutureLAW have joined forces to create a powerhouse of alternative dispute resolution on the African continent.
Equillore (formerly known as The Arbitration Forum) was established in 1997, and is the leading provider of dispute settlement services in South Africa while FutureLAW has extensive experience in designing and automating legal and claims processes.
'The decision to merge with FutureLAW significantly strengthens Equillore's offering to its clients by adding a new professional services capability to its portfolio,' said CEO Wahida Parker.
'This combined capability positions Equillore to pursue exciting new business opportunities arising from the government’s stated policy of utilising alternative dispute resolution as a mechanism to overhaul the judicial system in South Africa,' she added.
Willie Pienaar, deputy chairman of Equillore, said that the 'proven operational capacity of Equillore offers a solid foundation on which to expand the fast-growing demand for legal process re-engineering'.
The new group is already actively expanding into sub-Saharan Africa, and sees dispute settlement as an instrumental tool in addressing service delivery constraints and efficiencies in the developing world.
Other exciting developments include the launch of a purpose-built online dispute resolution (ODR) solution on the Internet.
Equillore designs, builds and maintains dispute prevention and resolution solutions, and develops legal risk strategies for forward thinking organisations.
